What is the best movie based on a video game?

Video games stories are strong enough to attract the same phobic fans. Several films have been shown based on the famous video games series in multiple genres. From fiction to fighting and fun play, below is the list of a few worth watching video games based movies: 

1. Werewolves Within

Werewolves Within is based on Ubisoft’s 2016 VR game, with the central theme of a monster in disguise 

2. Mortal Kombat (2021)

The 2021 adaptation of Mortal Kombat scores a place on the list for the fight scenes alone. This is the best movie if you like fighting games. The action is swift and frequent, and there and never, ever boring. 

3. Warcraft

In the timeline of the Warcraft franchise, the film is largely based on the original game, one that came in 1994, called Warcraft: Orcs and Humans. It is a massive, colourful visuals pop. 

4. Honorable Mention: Resident Evil

It is a clear-eyed social conscience, a good zombie movie. The film borrows heavily from the original video games by Capcom, especially Resident Evil (1996) and Resident Evil 2 (1998). One particular character also originates from Resident Evil (2002), a remake of the original game that first appeared exclusively on the Nintendo Gamecube.

5. Rampage

The Rock’s second appearance on this list, 2018’s “Rampage” is a movie based on an arcade game about punching nondescript buildings as a kaiju. 

6. Super Mario Bros. (The Morton-Jenkel Cut)

There will never be a film that strays more from its source material than 1994’s “Super Mario Bros. It was an extension of the aesthetics Morton and Jankel honed on the sci-fi cult classic “Max Headroom. 

7. Detective Pikachu

“Detective Pikachu” 2019 is a family film that goes out of its way to stock up on noir tropes and shoots. It manages to cram an intelligent look at the limits of male communication and one legitimately frightening set-piece into a rollercoaster ride of shadow-soaked comedy and plot twists. The movie focuses on 21-year-old Tim Goodman, who just wants to find his missing private investigator dad Henry and teams up with Pikachu in the process
